Cancer Foundation For Life®
Event Info and Photos
Cancer Foundation for Life® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2001 by retired oncologist Gary T. Kimmel, MD, in Tyler, Texas. CFFL is the only known nonprofit organization that offers a scientific-based, community cancer rehabilitation program in the United States that is free for the patient’s lifetime.
FitSteps for Life® is designed to assist cancer survivors in achieving optimal functional mobility and endurance during their cancer experience.
Since 2001, the Cancer Foundation for Life® has contributed $11 million in services directly to the care of cancer survivors. To maintain the free program, the Foundation is funded by physicians, hospitals, family foundations, grants and individual donors. Efficiency with donor dollars is of the utmost importance, and we are proud that 91 cents of every dollar we spend goes directly to improving the lives of cancer patients and increasing survival rates.
But, the number of individuals supporting Cancer Foundation For Life® is just as significant as the dollars we raise. These individuals may volunteer their time to anything from helping with an event to raise the funds to support our free program, to working directly with the patients who benefit from our program.
We greatly appreciate anyone who contributes to the funding, success, and impact of the FitSteps for Life® program.
