Benefit Car Show with John Schneider!

On July 23, 2016, FSFL was honored to be the beneficiary of East Texas Automotive’s First Annual Benefit Car Show. Mr. John Schneider of television series, Dukes of Hazzard, Smallville, and more recently The Haves and the Have Nots, attended the car show to sign autographs next to a General Lee and succeeded in drawing people to our area from all over the country.  We raised over $16,000, and started a relationship that will help us reach a whole new community.

Cancer Foundation benefits from East Texas Giving Day, May 3, 2016

The Cancer Foundation For Life participated in the first East Texas Giving Day, sponsored by East Texas Communities Foundation.  We raised $3810 in one day!!  Thank you East Texas, and ETCF for making this a successful first day.

FRESH 15K Raised more than $140,000 for Local NonProfits

The FRESH 15K presented checks to nonprofit organizations March 25 after raising more than $140,000 during its March 5 race.

The annual race, hosted at FRESH by Brookshire’s has raised more than $350,000 in its first three years. The charity recipients from the 2016 race are Bethesda Health Clinic, Team Red, White and Blue and Fit Steps for Life. The company also plans to invest back into the Tyler Police Department and the TISD Police.

Fit Steps for Life was given $15,000 to support their exercise and nutrition program for cancer patients and survivors in Tyler.

East Texas Centers come together for our 2016 Spring Fling pot-luck fundraiser

On April 29, 2016, the East Texas FitSTEPS for Life volunteers, staff and participants organized an annual pot-luck fundraiser – Spring Fling Luau!  We had a great time and raised over $1,000!

TJC Physical Therapy Students hosted a Car Wash to Raise Money for FitSteps

A huge “THANK YOU” goes out to the TJC Physical Therapy Assistant students for throwing FSFL a carwash on April 9! The weather wasn’t the best, but you guys and girls rocked it! Overall, they raised $362, and presented it at our Spring Fling fundraiser on April 29.

Cancer Survivors and Tyler Police Walk to Bring Awareness and Funds to Exercise Program

A group of Tyler police officers joined cancer survivors in a walk-a-thon at First Christian Church to raise money and bring awareness to the Cancer Foundation for Life’s FitSteps for Life program.

Participants aimed to walk a collective 230 miles on Wednesday at two exercise centers in Tyler. Thanks to sponsorships and donations, each mile provided money for the program.
